| 05/31/10 HOCKTOBERFEST 2010 ADVENTURES... The morning of Saturday May 29th Cathy, Laurie and Melissa went out on the town (styling in a 1973 Gold Duster), to inform some of our retailers in the city that Hocktoberfest III is underway! Our first stop was at Brian’s Custom Pro Shop on Tecumseh Rd. We were greeted with a good morning and met with Joe Frie Jr., who had participated in the 2010 IIHF World Championship where he personally assisted Jaromir Jagr. As part of the Czech Republic team staff, Joe can be found in the team photos and if you ask nicely he’ll even let you see his GOLD MEDAL! The Hocktoberfest ladies were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, as Joe had just returned days before the visit, and got to each take a photo with the famous souvenir (and Joe)! We are excited to have Brian’s Custom Pro Shop participate again in HOCKtoberfest 2010!! Thanks to all of the staff for allowing us the photo opportunities. Congratulations and welcome home Joe!! Next the adventure brought them to Coquette Fashion Imports Limited. If you are looking for some beautiful, high-end, women’s fashions, this is the place to go! Although the visit had to be cut short by the meter attendant, they had a pleasant visit and received some great ideas for other local businesses that may want to participate in our upcoming festival. With the sun shining and the breeze in their hair, they were not quite ready to quit, so off to Nantais Source for Sports. The three ladies were at first mistaken for the Budweiser Girls, after some clarification and introductions, all was sorted out. Nantais Source for Sports at 2020 Tecumseh Rd. West, was familiar with HOCKtoberfest and excited to receive a sponsorship package. Before leaving, the ladies received silent auction prizes donated by the store for their upcoming June 19th fundraiser dinner at the Tecumseh Roadhouse. Time for a much deserved lunch break, and where else would you rather be, on a beautiful warm day but, The Beach. Despite the heat, hockey was still all around them, as they noticed a gentleman sporting the Hockey Canada logo on his arm! Rumour has it that tattoos sporting Canadian pride are the ‘in thing’ this summer... The ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch and appreciated the reception of their sponsorship package! As the morning turned into afternoon, the ladies had to retreat from their adventures and head back to reality. A great time was had by all and the ladies thank all of the locations they visited. The excitement of Hocktoberfest III is only beginning!! Until the next adventure... 02/09/10 Hocktoberfest continues, …..Stay tuned for more updates as we meet and plan year 3 and bring THE HAT TRICK to life!! Cathy.
